Installing self adhesive projection Films to Glass.
Care must be taken when installing our self adhesive projection films, such as, Ultra XC, please use the guide below, if in doubt, seek professional assistance.
Tools:
Squeezer with rubber hardness of 80, width 200mm, thickness 6mm.
Spray bottle with Neutral detergent solution.
Application:
Using a Neutral detergant solution or application fluid, spray both the adhesive layer and the glass evenly, this will allow the film to be installed on the window and squeezed properly to remove all the air. The film is layed on in the same way as signwriters vinyl, the film requires time to fully bond after installation.
Make a neutral detergant using 4-8ml of detergent to 4 litres of water, you can also purchase pre-made application fluid as used in sign manufacture. If the detergent solution is too strong then the film will slide around as you try to squeeze it, if too weak, then the film may adhere before you have time to remove all the air.
Please be very careful handling the film once you remove the backing, it can very easily become wrinkled, or stick to itself if allowed to fold. For larger applications use two people to lay the film down evenly, keeping it taught until contact.
Non Adhesive PVC films.
Our non adhesive films such as Aura HC can be mounted to the window or plastic sheet using 3M transparent water based glue. They can then be removed again if required, they can also be mounted in a frame, or using eyelets.
